Resources

This week was full of future things for me.  We had the mock interviews in class, I met with my career adviser to go over my resume and job applications and I met with my academic adviser to finish up my graduation plan.  Life is stressful.

Going through all of these things this week has taught me and shown me all the great opportunities for help that surround me.  I have friends and classmates that will give me their honest opinion and tell me what to fix.  I have an adviser that is helping me look and find internship opportunities and helping me really know what I want to do in the future. And I have an adviser that is helping me just make it through this thing called college.

Up until this year I haven't really taken advantage of these resources.  But I have learned that my life can be a little less stressful if I use them! They are there waiting to help me, I just have to let down my pride or whatever has been stopping me and go.

  1. Yeah I'm in the same boat. I just met with my academic adviser for the first time. I wasn't avoiding doing it, I just hadn't gotten around to it. Turns out that they know a lot about what the best way is to go about your major, and I could have saved some time and energy by just going to them in the first place.

  2. Its amazing how many people are willing to help us if we only ask. And they help because they want to not just because the feel like they are obligated or will get something in return. We are very privileged to have all of the help that we do.

  3. I've never really had a good experience with the counselors, it just never turns out well for me. I'm glad they're helping you though, that's awesome. I usually try to avoid their offices and talk with professionals or alumni that have been where I'm coming from. It's worked out reasonably well I guess.
